Rev. Tony Thomas

Biography & Journey

Pastor Tony Thomas has been involved in ministry for 15 years now (an ordained pastor in the PCA since 2016). For his undergraduate, he did a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and worked in industry for about 5 years. He also completed his Masters of Divinity at Columbia International University (CIU) and a Doctorate of Ministry at Metro Atlanta Seminary (MAS). His dissertation was "A Vision to See a Greater Representation of South Asian Americans in Vocational Ministry Roles."

For 12 years, Pastor Tony ministered at a largely Pan-Asian church in Illinois. Pastor Tony and Marilyn also specifically led a South Asian ministry and saw the fruits of salvation, maturity, and equipping. Pastor Tony also had the joy of pastoring international and ethnic ministries: Korean, Filipino, Taiwanese, Japanese, Indonesian, Latino, Vietnamese, and Black & African. In 2019, the Thomas family moved to Atlanta for Pastor Tony to be a church planter through Perimeter Church. At that time, he led a city-wide South Asian prayer movement and their family was developing diverse relationships inside and outside the church.

In May 2022, Pastor Tony and Marilyn gathered a core team of around 12 families and who met together for about 6 months before launching Joy of All Nations for public worship on January 29, 2023.

Pastor Tony and Marilyn are the proud parents of Joy, John, and Joshua. They have much fun together, especially on Friday movie nights with homemade pizzas and popcorn. Some of Pastor Tony's passions are playing any sport, especially basketball and football. He also enjoys coaching his kids' sports teams. Growing up in Chicago, he is still a huge sports fan of the Bulls, Bears, and Cubs.
